On Saturday 25th February the 1st St Erth Guide Unit went on an exciting day trip to Truro to attend the Trefoil Guild 80th Anniversary Service.
First, we travelled on the train from St Erth station. Luckily all 8 girls and 4 leaders turned up early and therefore we were able to catch an earlier train than planned, as our actual train was cancelled!
As we had arrived in Truro earlier than planned, the 4 leaders treated the lucky girls to a hot drink at the Arts Cafe, located next to the museum.
After our coffee stop we spent around 2 hours in Truro Museum, exploring the artefacts as well as dressing up in historical clothing. The girls particularly enjoyed the Egyptian exhibits and the mineral display. We were lucky to have our own museum guide, Laura, who also happens to be a Girlguiding member!
At around lunchtime we wandered over to Victoria Gardens, where we ate our picnic lunch in the sun and played a wide game before heading to the Cathedral. At the Cathedral we attended the county celebration of the Trefoil Guild 80th anniversary. The Guides really enjoyed the service, especially learning about the vast history around the Trefoil Guild, as well as joining in with the hymns.
After a busy afternoon we returned to St Erth on the train, having had a really enjoyable day out with the girls - the first trip we have arranged since the pandemic.
