Our annual outdoor cooking competition for Guides was back this year, with the theme "a holiday anywhere in the world" the challenge was to cook the best meal you had on that holiday. This had to be accompanied by a postcard to "Granny" to tell her all about the trip.
As always, the Guides were really creative in their menus and gave the judges some amazing tasting opportunities.
The postcard designs were really well thought out as well as attractive. One of the Camborne patrols had the highest marks for this and the overall total marks were all very close.
The winning patrol were Penryn Polar Bears who cooked Spaghetti Carbonara and Paella and managed to make a tasty drink with ice cubes! not easy on a hot day but very much appreciated by the judges. Tywardreath Butterflies and Penryn Butterflies came joint second place.
Penryn Polar Bears with their leader Mary, and County Commissioner Sue.
All who entered were given a badge and certificate and Penryn Polar Bears were presented with Tote bags made from World Map design fabric with denim sides and handles.
Our thanks go to all who helped make the day such a happy and successful one.
Well done to all the girls, we hope you will all come again next year.
